This fabulously compiled and eclectic DJ Mix comes to us via the infamous and mysterious “Mish”. From what i’ve heard, “The Mish” is a collective of the music industry’s top movers and shakers residing in North America. They operate as an underground sect, and it’s rumored they gather as a group, in undisclosed locations a few times a years to “discuss things”. Very Kubric, very “Eyes Wide Shut”.

I got my hands on this via a “happy accident”. The mix is peek into some of the tracks the elusive group they’ve elected as their favorite tunes of 2008, mostly new, some old, but classic, and relevant to the past year.

Growing up in the U.S. in the 80’s meant endless viewing of John Hughes films. I believe I watched Weird Science over 400 times, Sixteen Candles, 500 times and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, 600 times. I could never get enough and rotated through those three fantastic movies. Every once in a while it’s nice to be taken back to all that was birthed out of that culture – Nintendo, E.T., Transformers, My Little Pony, Molly Ringwald, Miami Vice, David Lee Roth, Apple, Micheal J. Fox, Jem and the Holograms and so much more.

“Tvyks has become a landmark to whoever is interested in the energy rush arriving from the east. DJ, producer, party organiser, radio speaker, graphic designer, this exciting young Czech man wears many hats placing his affined knowledge of the electronic scene at the service of his passion for music.

Co-founder of the Plastique at Radost FX club and Boom Bang Baby! Prague’s nights, that are so wild the bobbies have to get out of bed! Thanks to the extremely warm public the unique atmosphere Tvyks parties have already been the heaven for bands and live acts such as D.I.M., Mixhell, Headman, Rex The Dog, Lo-Fi-Fnk, Adam Sky, Bunny Lake, Terry Poison, Naive New Beaters, Vicarious Bliss, Jo Jo De Freq, Franz & Shape or Namosh.

Finally as a DJ, Tvyks benefits from a rich 15 years experience behind the decks of some of the finest clubs across Europe. Digging from multiple sources he selects the ultimate sounds within the trends in order to provide the audience with fresh and sharp mixes. His inspiration varies from house to electro, passing through disco punk, batty bass to acid house, grime and baile funk leading to a powerful head banging feet thumping mix.
