Fever Ray – Triangle Walks

It’s easy to lose yourself in the music of Swedish artist Karin Dreijer Andersson, aka, Fever Ray, with it’s dark, intense, haunting sounds. Described by Filter magazine as “sublime and magically creepy,” Fever Ray continues to take us down another luminous path with the third single, “Triangle Walks” off her self-titled album. Available on 12″ and download, the single features remixes from the likes of Tiga, Spektre, James Rutledge, Tora Vinter, Ben Hoo and Allez-Allez. I quite like all the remixes, but can’t stop myself from repeating Tiga’s catchy, “1-2-3-4″.

The music video for “Triangle Walks”, was directed by Mikel Cee Karlsson, who has collaborated with Andreas Nilsson on videos for Jose Gonzales and Bonde do Role. Nilsson has designed a stage show for Fever Ray’s North American tour, which kicks off 28th September at Webster Hall, NYC.

Soulwax – “Part of the Weekend Never Dies”

Soulwax’ film/documentary “Part of the Weekend Never Dies”, was filmed in the summer of 2006 by Saam Farahmand using one video camera, covering about 120 live shows in clubs throughout Europe, Japan, the United States, Australia and Latin America. The documentary, which premiered at the Royal Festival Hall in London on 24 April, 2008, takes a look at the relentless day to day routine of the Dewalee brothers and life on tour. It includes music, interviews and footage of 2manydj’s, Soulwax Nite Versions, James Murphy, Nancy Whang, Erol Alkan, Tiga, Justice, Busy P, So-Me, Peaches, Kitsuné, Klaxons and many more.

If at some point you tire from the back to back Sónar parties, the documentary will be screened at SónarCinema as part of Sónar’s daytime activities. Plan to catch the boys in action, as they’ll be performing on the main Sónar by Night stage, 21 of June.

Slave to Gossip

GOSSIP

One of our favorite trios, Beth, Brace and Hannah of GOSSIP, landed straight into our hearts with their elevating and energetic tune, “Standing In The Way Of Control”. We knew we wanted more and shortly after, they fulfilled our desires with “Jealous Girls” and “Listen Up”. We’ve been a slave to their rhythm ever since.

Gossip has been remixed by Arthur Baker, MSTRKRFT, Playgroup, Tiga, Tronik Youth, Headman, Punks Jump Up, Rory Phillips, Tommie Sunshine and Soulwax to name a few. They’ve toured with No Bra, Panther, Pre, Les Georges Leningrad, Chromatics, CSS, Le Tigre and Cyndi Lauper.

They’ve been working hard on their new LP and are set to release “Live In Liverpool“, their 2-disc CD/DVD, (off Columbia Records’ Music With A Twist imprint) on Tuesday, 15th of April!! Recorded live in concert on July 9, 2007, by documentary filmmaker and video director Lance Bangs, “Gossip – Live In Liverpool” brilliantly captures the intensity at the core of Gossip’s sound and you get to see Beth smashing it in shiny gold lamé!!

For the release, they will be celebrating with their fans at a one-off performance on 15th of April along with Shy Child at Webster Hall in New York City!! Not to be missed!!!!! Webster Hall ticket info

Stay updated on Gossip via their My Space and pick up “Live In Liverpool” with a quickness!! Here’s a sneak peek!

Could this be . . . Love? It’s not confirmed, but my investigation, and my ears, lead me to believe that the track below, “Love” is in fact produced and sent from Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter. Reportedly, it was sent to Headphone Sex blog, from TB at daftalive.com

So, better late than never, take a listen . . .
