Lake of Stars Summer Fundraiser!
The long awaited weekend is here and London is brimming with ways to entertain the bright eyed party-goer. Infamous Malawi music festival Lake of Stars are set to raise the roof off this Saturday 8th August, at East Village, Shoreditch, for their summer fundraiser!! Dekker & Johan head up the DJ action along with Disco&Mercy, Itchy Soul, Kid Blue and We Are Bird Wolf.
With a Radio 1 ‘Essential new tune’ and a slew of remixes for the likes of Simian Mobile Disco, Little Boots, Skunk Anansie, Cubic Zirconia, The Hours, and Yo Majesty, Dekker & Johan have forged ahead, honing their craft, and getting rave reviews by folks like Pete Tong who proclaimed the duo are “two names to look out for in 2009″. They’ve played mega spots at Glastonbury and Beach Break this year, as well as regular club gigs in the UK and the rest of Europe. Don’t miss them at East Village!!
What’s even better about the Lake of Stars summer fundraiser is that you can have a night out and also do a bit of good while you’re at it!! A portion of the nights proceeds will go towards the Microloan Foundation, a UK-based microfinance charity providing small loans, business training, and continuing guidance to groups of women in sub-Saharan Africa, as well as the vinspired Lake of Stars Malawi Music Festival. Show your support!!
