Joy Orbison – Doldrums Mix 001
Before listening to this mix you may want to spend some quality time with Ben UFO, Hessle Audio label head, and whose Fabric Live promo mix was posted here last month. The mix is a seminal body of songs from a label that’s poised to do some important things to the genre of Dubstep in 2009. One of those important things is Joy Orbison out of . Just a month ago Joy had nearly as many Myspace hits as me (not many), and today his Myspace views have nearly doubled as his tune Hyph Mngo is tearing its way through streaming play buttons and soundsystems. Offered to you today is a mix from Joy Orbison, his first official mix to hit the internets. This mix is called Doldrums and features an important backstory to Joy Orbison’s influences, highlighting a collection of Deep House, Funky, and Joy’s own 2-step inspired Dubstep productions. If Myspace friends are any sure foreshadow, we may see a release of some Joy Orbison tune via Hotflush Recordings in the near future. Until then, keep this on repeat.
