If there’s one thing you must do this weekend, it should be to listen to Fake Blood‘s Essential mix. No need to leave the house when you’ve got the club AND afterparty on hand for your indoor weekend festivities. Beer. Food. Fake Blood. Courtesy of the ultra fine BBC Radio 1, this mix was recorded at 3:00am, Saturday, 14th March 2009. Had a listen last evening and it’s one for the kill. “Hello there…
Last Friday, the 13th March, my ESSENTIAL MIX was broadcast on BBC Radio 1.
The theme was this: Rather than just bang it out for 2 hours (yawn) I thought I would split it into 2 distinct halves, and show a wider range of music I love. Plus it makes it more interesting to put together, and to listen to hopefully:
The 1st hour represents THE CLUB, and is the kind of stuff I am playing out. A bit heavier for that apex of the night.
But the 2nd hour is THE AFTER PARTY, and is me playing other stuff I love, but goes a bit deeper, stripped back, melodic and unusual. Music to watch the night turn into morning.
It’ll definitely throw a few people, but that was kind of the intention.”

Seriously… SOOO great. The first half bangs and the afterparty bubbles. FB is a breath of fresh air when things have gotten stale. I want him to come to CHI so I can experience it live.

I’ve got a question about the tracklisting: What does it mean when a song has -w/ and Acapella at the end? I kinda fell in love with the Revolution 909 sanchez remix, but all I can find is this boring 8 minutelong 909 looping technotrack:(

Damn it,I hate having to find and download EVERY single song that was in this mix.
Apparently,the Justice one came with it in the torrents.
Which was good.
