Whilst some of you got ‘Shook’ today (music bloggens will get this), I was busy practicing the spelling of RESUSCITATE! Incoming hot new remixes from those Canadians you love dearly, but haven’t heard from in a minute, Stop Die Resuscitate!! They’ve gone and remixed “Back in Your Head” by Canadian pop darlings, Tegan and Sara. Admittedly, I was keen to the original of “Back in Your Head” upon first listen, but since I’m a sucker for remixes, this one just makes this track even sweeter.

Like true perfectionists, SDR have done two versions of their remix for “Back in Your Head” and both fulfill everything this song could hope for from excellent remix work. Since I have a tendency to go for rapid, beating sounds, I favor the faster version that takes you straight into dance fever mode. The fact that they’ve added in some cowbells, makes this one even better – A dancefloor sure shot!

The second version was created for some friends with the intention of it being played at an elegant disco party called 7th Heaven in Toronto. It too exceeds at giving “Back in Your Head” a totally different sound with an italo disco sort of feel. If you’re in the Toronto area 5th July, 7th Heaven is throwing a FREE party featuring Eric Duncan of Still Going / Rub N Tug and Fools Gold wunderkinds Nacho Lovers!

Upcoming for the Stop Die boys, they’re due to perform at Toronto’s Pride Festival Saturday, 29th June with Ari Up (!!!!!!), Duchess Says, Leif and others. Toronto’s Swagger dancers will be joining them on stage for some HOO-HAA!! And they’ve got some surprises in store that according to Luke “it’s not what you’re going to expect.” Who us??
