Pulling Teeth

David and Giulio of Pulling Teeth hit me up sometime back in February with their track “New Era“. Needless to say I had been slammed with so much music, I completely forgot about it! Well time has passed and I’m glad they gave it another go and sent over their latest tune “Mask“.
Birthed in the summer of 2006 in the city of Milan, Pulling Teeth describe their style as “a mix of hardcore heavy ’stumpers’ and electro giant distortions all fucked up with fidget bass monsters and hand clappings,” adding, “after 2 years of distortion disco we needed to express ourselves through our own songs, even if we didn’t know how the fuck a multi-tracker worked, but we kinda managed to learn and this is the result.”
And a fine result it is. “Mask” delivers with the perfect amount of bounce and some bloopy bass that leads into an excellent guitar break along with the THX sound – which I recognized from the intro of “19H11″ by Danger. I had no idea what that specific sound was called until I asked my acoustician bf who gave me the answer straight away. Certainly comes in handy.
As Pulling Teeth continue to produce and Dj around Europe amongst friends who’ve all found their way into the spotlight – The Bloody Beetroots, Crookers, 3 Is A Crowd and Congorock – the time has come for this duo to shine!!
