D*L*i*d

DLID

The French will never let us down. This we know. Their music collectives continue to flourish, getting bigger and better. Perhaps we should take a cue from them? Toulouse-based D*L*i*d, aka ‘Dick Laurent is Dead’ and member of the Electroluxe Family, is releasing his new EP, ‘Discovision‘, TODAY!

I don’t think we’re ready to give up blog house quite yet, especially when title track “Discovision” brings to mind Brazil’s much loved CSS and a slowed down version of Justice’s “Phantom Part 2 (Boyz Noise Remix)”. The riff is similiar, but with the strong vocals on top, it has a different feel and hits you in all the right places. The second version of “Discovision (The Melody Never Dies)“, is more melodic with some softer synth lines and “Get Lost” pulls you back with some infectious distortion.

As D*L*i*d continues to work with the Electroluxe Family, he also keeps his hand in Bisou GTi, a DJ/VJ racing crew from southern France. Mid July sees D*L*i*d headed to Columbia for a tour (check his MySpace for dates and locations) and a 12″ for Quatre Records, to be released in the coming future!! Expect to hear loads more from this exciting collective!
