When Gorillaz Lose their Pants with Dan The Automator at the Helm
Russell Simins and Dan The Automator have been working in the studio on a genre-hopping collaboration - under the guise of “Men Without Pants“.
Russell (Blooze Explosion) and Dan (Gorillaz, Doc Oc, Deltron 3030, Handsome Boy Modeling School) are set to release their debut album, “Naturally” on Expansion Team Records, sometime this spring/summer. Russell holds down guitars, the kit and vocal duty, and Dan “automates” the programming and electronics, the pair have crafted what they describe as a “collection of sweaty electro, funk-twinged pop, and buzzsaw rock.”
“Naturally” includes contributions from Sean Lennon, Cibo Matto, members of The Mooney Suzuki, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and a few special guests to be announced. The track we’re dropping today - “And The Girls Go“, features lead vox by MPfree and it’s also rumored YYY’s, Karen Oh, is belting her little heart out, however, legally, no one is allowed to say . . .
It’s quite a funky little jammy jam. I would love to hear some remixes of this, it’s quite sexy as is, but throw in a little more dancefloor, and some clothes might come flying off.
