oh beatport, while the quality has gotten better in the past couple years the people who run that shit are stuck in prog house, late 90s, big club era which doesn’t make any sense in 2008 (or 2001). they’re in a permanent k hole.

the music we like is always filed under electronica which is lame. like, Peter Bjorn & John ‘Young Folks’ — best “Electronica” single — of 2007?? Where to start — with the electronica label or the year?

buuuuut. beatport has gotten better in the past year or so and they’ve started picking up more and more good stuff that isn’t necessarily filed in some dirty cardboard box in some cubicle in the back room. i wish they’d just hire some nerdy college student who is “in the know”.
