EyeVibe – Share Mobile Video Clips and Earn Money

More power in the hands of the consumer, nothing could be better . . .

Mobile phone companies 3 and O2 are collaborating by combining joint user-generated video clip ventures (3’s SeeMeTV and O2’s LookAtMe! platform) to launch EyeVibe. The new mobile video community will allow members to share video clips and also generate revenue for doing so. “EyeVibe is the new cross-network user-generated service which we believe is the way forward for social networking”, said John Penberthy-Smith, Marketing Director at 3. EyeVibe community members will be able to access a library of videos captured from mobile handsets. Downloads cost £0.10 per clip, with 10% going to the user who uploaded it. Since launch (of the separate sites), users have submitted more than 60,000 clips and paid for more than 32M video downloads, creating a combined total of over £800,000 for users. With ‘Generation Free’ currently dominating the music arena, ‘Generation Paid’ could turn the tables yet again by putting even more power in the hands of the consumer:
