“A few nights ago i put together a mix of sorts — this one’s not at all a “DJ mix,” far more like the mixtapes i used to make as a teenager or young 20-something with, like, time on my hands, and passion. technically nothing fancy — laid out in ableton to facilitate the blends, with a tad of delay or reverb added here or there. mainly it’s just about the tracklist, which is decidedly in a mopey mid-winter mood. if that’s your thing, download and enjoy.”

“Also, before I forget, Al Usher (Ewan Pearson’s partner in partial arts) included a new track of mine in a recent mix of his, about which i’m still pretty floored. his mix is genius — lots of slow disco, cosmic weirdness, percoset soul and the like. i’d recommend it highly even without my somehow stumbling into the tracklisting. funny, i’ve occasionally been skeptical about the nu-disco movement but as i’m increasingly sick of cookie-cutter house & techno, some of this stuff is sounding a lot better to me. (i especially dig the slow tempos… 110bpm is the new black.) you can get Al’s mix here:”
