After hearing living legend Laurent Garnier play a mind blowing set Saturday night at Cielo, then make the trek to the after party, where Damian Lazarus and M.A.N.D.Y. had everyone dancing well into the daylight, (Laurent included) I didn’t think I had much left in me. HOWEVER, when I heard Laurent was playing an unannounced set at APT the following night, how could I not go? As expected, his set was stellar, he played Pepe Braddock - Deep Burnt, Inner City - Good Life, and a million other amazing tracks until 7am this morning. I was exhausted by the time it was all over. Like, WMC exhausted. All I can say is, I’ve never seen or heard a DJ as skilled as Laurent, and I’ve heard more than my fair share of DJ’s. The man is simply untouchable. When I left APT early this morning, he told me he was playing AGAIN while he’s here in NYC. Tonight, Monday, at Cielo. Alongside Francois K and Juan Atkins. At the time, I thought there was no way I was going to be able to make it. But my goodness, all these legends in one room, its like a mini DEMF or something.

So, um, yeah, I’m going to muster up a third wind and make my way over. Three nights in a row is a pretty rare occurrence for me, but a night like this something special.
