Spitzer

It is not often that you see two brothers making such stellar tunes together, but Damien and Matthieu Brégère are doing just that. Having played in a rock band the past 7 years, and recently evolving to electronic music with their latest project, Spitzer, the two are quite comfortable surrounded by music. Growing up in Lyon, France, they were immersed in music with their father as a drummer.
With music flowing through their veins, and perfect glitchy sounds, they’re influenced by an array of rock bands such as, The Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, Guns n Roses, and electronic music such as, Apparat, Trentemoller, Daft Punk, and Aphex Twin. They try to be open minded, listening to all kinds of music (besides Christian Rock and I don’t blame them!) from death metal to crunk, pop or jazz.
The duo have played the annual Nuits Sonores electronic music festival, Vega in Copenhagen at La Plateforme in Lyon, but their focus is not so much on playing out at the moment, as it is on their first upcoming four-track EP, Roller Coaster.
In the midst of being swamped with work the past month, I’ve held off on writing about these guys, and as I peeked around, I see our friends at la decadanse and Bibabidi have done a feature on Spitzer as well! A good indication that the guys are getting some well deserved attention and I am certain there will be much more to come!! Agreeably, a favorite find this year and all tracks I’ve heard by Spitzer are superb!!
Spitzer – Avida Dollars

Disco Biscuits is an insane track…even with a ridiculously long build it holds your attention, and I can’t wait to sample some vocals over this during a set.
