Simian Mobile Disco Hit NYC With The Beat

Photo Credit: Brooklyn VeganSimian Mobile Disco are back in NYC during CMJ to wow us yet again with a live performance at The Music Hall of Williamsburg. They were here last month and played to a sold out crowd at Gramercy, with a light show hot on the heels of rivaling Daft Punk. Right now, I can’t think of a stronger live electronic act than James and Jas, they are doing it up proper. With tracks like ‘Hustler” and “Its The Beat”, they are def set to reach legendary status amongst the dance music ranks. They already have in my book, and I’m pleased as punch they are returning to NYC to do it all over again on Oct 18th. If you missed them the first time around, don’t sleep in this, you’ve been given a second chance.

And yes, the rumors are true, James did in fact injure himself playing soccer with The Arctic Monkeys, (what a story, eh?) and had to cancel a few DJ gigs to recover. However, he’s a trooper and he will back in fine form, without skipping a beat.

And speaking of beats, SMD were kind enough to let us share with you a rare live Radio One tweaked out acid version of “Its The Beat”. So get out of your seat, and D/L the hotness!

  1. Very cool pic — they had mountains of kit when they played here in Brighton earlier this year. You lucky people !
