Duran Duran Announces Broadway Performances

Duran Duran was the very first concert I ever attended. I woke up at 6 AM, and pedaled my bike to the mall, in the rain, to wait in line for tickets. There were already people camped out from the night before, (impressive) but I was still lucky enough to get “10th Row Center”. Erasure opened for them, and was totally confused watching Andy Bell prance around on stage in a red rubber suit, never saw anything quite like that, in all my 12 years . . . well except maybe on MTV.
I am downloading “Wild Boys” from Amazon as I write this, and you better believe i’ll be in line for tickets, sans the bike. (Internet is lovely, isn’t it!) Oh, and joy of all joys they will NOT be selling ticket via Ticketmaster!

Duran Duran have announced that they will play an unprecedented nine shows
on Broadway to celebrate the release of their forthcoming album, ‘Red
Carpet Massacre’, which is due out November 12 in Europe and the UK and a
day later in the US, as previously reported.
The band, which features original members Simon Le Bon, John Taylor, Nick
Rhodes and Roger Taylor, intend to play the new album in its entirety, as
well as classics such as ‘Rio’, ‘Hungry Like The Wolf’ and ‘Ordinary
World’, during their Broadway stint.
“We’ve always wanted to do something like this, and the timing seemed
right,” frontman LeBon told NME.COM.
The band will perform at New York’s Barrymore Theatre November 1- 3, 5-6,
8-10 and 12.
Tickets are set to go on sale October 6 through Telecharge.
