So the ‘air raid,’ is over. The one in my hood that is. This year the fireworks (that sounded more like M80’s than firecrackers) came a week and 1/2 early. My brain is frazzled. I’d rather throw tea in a river. I kept indoors to think about other things, such as, the latest Burberry ads, how much I despise the right wing pundit Michelle Malkin, and the French domination in music. It continues.

In the spirit of all things French, we have Léonard de Léonard. Born in the 70’s in suburbia, Paris, he’s been refining his talents for more than half a lifetime and is certainly not a newcomer to the thriving French music scene. Currently featured on EKLER’O’SHOCK, France, (home to such artists as Data, Terry Poison, Terak, Crunc Tesla, DJ Raedawn) Léonard de Léonard has been in a band, composed music for a video game as well as for a series of short films. He has worked on several collaborations with the French label, ‘Musiques Hybrides,’ and founded the electro label, ‘Rolax,’ in 2002 – whose aim is to work on projects linking musicians and graphic designers.

In the past few years, Léonard has released his own projects that feature his multicultural style, blending everything from hip hop, French chanson, old school electro, electroclash, crunk, and club. With 2 albums under his belt – ‘Leonizer Fever,’ and ‘2,’ and an E.P. ‘Coup de foudre,’ he is keepin busy!

A somewhat older track, ”Leonizer Fever,” has been on the rotation lately, and heard recently over the airwaves on Justices BBC Radio 1 essential mix, 6.10.07. Très frais. J’aime bien Léonard! (my attempt at French)
