I saw Mr. Dear this weekend at Montreal Mutek festival and I can tell you his DJ Set was the biggest pile of crap I’ve ever heard and seen. 40 bad mixes in a row, this guy was a total trainwreck.. Also– I respectfully disagree with the fellow commenting above me. I thought that Dear’s set at Mutek was very enjoyable. I’m not so sure about whether it was technically good mixing, but after reading DJ Scoy’s blog post which criticized Matt for being too “pretty” and not having any tattoos…well, I have to laugh.
It’s one thing to say that you didn’t like Matt Dear’s music, but to call him a “poser” when he’s been booked at practically every internationally-recognized electronic music festival this summer (demf, mutek, sonar, 10daysoff, etc)? LOL.

Just for the record, my blog was written to be half funny, secondly, the mixing was bad but I do love the productions coming out of his camp.
